Business management
Here we will analyse the different areas that business management includes and that synthesise the role of the director.
Business management is the framework where we will do a series of activities aimed at providing quality service and ultimately to create value.
Thus, even though the division of this field in several areas can be used to perform a detailed analysis of these factors, we should not lose sight of the integrity of all these, which is the main objective of a director.
Strategic management
Companies are facing now more tan ever the challenge of assimilating big and continuous changes not only in their environment but also in social, technological, legislative etc. contexts. It is therefore necessary to make decisions within the company to adapt to these changes and ensure its survival in the market. This is what the strategic management is about; it is about developing the full potential of a company to ensure growth and long-term survival.
Accounting and financial analysis
We will provide the necessary basis and knowledge to enable participants to interpret financial data of a business and dominate the necessary terminology that allows them to do suitable management tasks without problems.
Commercial management
Commercial management is today considered as one of the most important departments of the company because its work provides resources to other departments. Its activity is also most often the one most directly related to profit. Its formalities, which should reach the whole sales process, determine the company's competitiveness in the market today and in the future.
Analytical and management accounting
In addition to data from the financial accounting, the analytical and management accounting focuses on the study of the internal operations of the company. It emphasises those relating to production processes, product evaluation, analysis of deviations, as well as everything related to budgeting control of different functional areas of the company.
Team management
This area focuses on developing skills necessary for team work management. It focuses on achieving a set of skills that promote leadership, taking responsibility and making decisions.
The human factor is one of the main issues of a company that largely determines its capacity for growth and stability in the future.
In short, this is about training future managers to take risks and challenges, to face problems and adapt to continuous change.
Management skills
We refer here to the necessary competences required to assume and carry out successful business management. These managing skills include such competences as leadership, teamwork, motivation, communication, interpersonal attention, and so on. Since their acquisition is not based on mere knowledge, specific programmes and techniques will be developed to allow their assimilation by the students.
Staff planning and recruitment
Today there is broad consensus on giving the human factor supremacy over all other factors of the company. Yet few companies put it into practice many times because of lack of conviction that this resource will become a competitive advantage which ensures the survival and growth of the business in the future. Therefore we pay special attention, within the contents of this Master, to analysing such aspects as the analysis and design of employment or the policy of search and selection of staff.
Labour relations
A crucial area in the training of directors is related to labour relations, to existing rights and duties with their employees. In this section the students will be trained to acquire the knowledge and skills needed to dominate the labour area.
Politics and legislation
Within this area we will study in depth the legal matters relating to the management of an educational centre.
To know them better, we will briefly study the policies that led to the current legislative situation and, once understood, we will analyse concrete situations through the case method.
Guiding principles for the educational system
Under the guidance of the principles relating to education established in the Constitution, we will analyse them as the backbone in subsequent legislation with the aim of providing students with the necessary legal knowledge related to the educational field.
Curricular structure of early childhood education
The curricular structure reflects the different aspects that must be taught in schools. Knowledge of these issues by the director will influence the design and implementation of the educational project of the centre and also the management, when providing appropriate educational tools to allow better assimilation of such contents.
Analysis of teaching function
Another aspect to consider in the legislative field is a detailed analysis of the teaching function. It is, in short, to provide our students with the necessary knowledge relating to the work to be performed by the teaching staff in our educational system.
Rights and duties of the educational community
This section will explore in depth the rights and duties of all factors and elements of the educational community. This seems adequate as we understand the director as coordinator of the different functions to be carried out in the centre, and more when this coordination means the allocation of tasks and responsibilities to the different elements that shape the educational community.
Educational evaluation and inspection
Study of the main aspects of the mechanisms of supervision and evaluation to ensure the adequate functioning of educational centres. Knowledge of these mechanisms will be useful to perform complementary internal analysis to know the level of goal achievement and and to establish measures for continuous improvement.
Educational project
This area is the main part of the course and it is about studying the educational project of the centre, the methodology and the pedagogical tools will be used in order to provide appropriate training related to the specific needs presented by students.
This knowledge is essential to ensure coordination between the human factor and management of the company, as it often determines the company's goal and mission.
Educational project of the centre
In addition to describing what the EPC consists of; its purpose, its relationship with the strategic management of the company and its elements analysed through case studies, different stages of its development, its relationship with the design of the curricular basis and the existing mechanisms for its approval.
Curricular project of the centre
The establishment of the curricular structure will take us to determine the curricular project of the centre. The determination of its content and elements, its principles and purpose will be some of the aspects to be analysed and integrated into the administrative and management tasks.
Pedagogical resources and teaching
Although the work of the directors may seem distant to the teaching function, the same coordination of teachers forces us to acquire certain knowledge about pedagogical resources and teaching methodology, turning them in many cases into a factor which represents a competitive advantage.
Educational trends in early childhood education
The knowledge of how the early childhood education has been developing in other countries and also the knowledge of new resources or tools that support participation in the educational environment will provide a modern quality education and also a differentiation in the market.
Core skills and knowledge
Apart from the four areas described above, we also offer a module of core skills and knowledge to support and complement the skills acquired in each of those areas. Thus, the study of quality processes, languages, information technology and knowledge or corporate social responsibility are some aspects that we will learn throughout the master with the goal of providing complete training and to serve the work of managers.
Programme of development of personal branding
The characteristics of the business market (globalisation, dynamism, competitiveness, etc.) make it necessary to acquire competitive advantages that differentiate our products or services from other competitors. These characteristics of the business market can also be led to the labour market, where there is a homogeneous offer and where it is necessary to develop different performances of a marketing department to enable us to stand out, differentiate, and in short, make us visible in this environment.
This is the "personal brand". To create this brand, students will follow a practical and specific itinerary designed by the teaching team and they will be advised by a coach (or a tutor) who will accompany and advise the students throughout this process and its subsequent incorporation to the labour market.
Programme to obtain English skills
With the opening of the markets it is essential to have knowledge and be able to use various languages. Therefore, we want to supplement the training in core studies with an official qualification in English (Cambridge, TOEFL, etc.). We will provide the students with the registration fee and the means in order to successfully pass these studies.
FESAN student card
When registering the student will be given the Fesan student card, which provides the following services:
- Help financing the master
- Discounts on courses, programmes and activities
- Possibility to use the library
- Free attendance to a series of conferences organised throughout the year
- Preference in selection process for staff
Visit to WSPA
Visit to the WSPA, which is most prestigious private university in Poland located in Lublin, is scheduled within the programme of the course. On this visit, students will be greeted by the rector who will provide a guided tour around the university and the city of Lublin. Students will also participate in various academic activities at the University. The management of the Master provides transport, lodging and meals during this period.
