Brief Biography
Manuel Vázquez is lecturer in the Departament of European Studies. Actually, he Works in the "Diputación de A Coruña" (County Council of Coruña) as Head of the Department of Planification, Territorial Development and European Union Matters. He is –since December, 2002- the Director of "Europe Direct A Coruña", the Oficial Information Centre related with European Union in A Coruña.
His responsibilities involve the coordination of the european projects that are now carrying out in his Department (for example: "Rede Xiana", "Parnet-tic", "Dorna", "Ancorim"), standing out those ones that are related with the European Social Fund. He also fosters some projects related with the local development, being the secretary of the Provincial Strategic Plan. He coordinates some actuations that served as support to external Galician and some ones related with general development.
He was member of the Technical Net of FEMP and of Euro Net promoted by the Bank of Spain (Banco de España).
He also carried out some duties as lawyer and consultant in "Setec Consulting SL" and "CIF Asesores SL".
